Cleanaway welcomes Citywide Waste

Cleanaway Waste Management Limited (Cleanaway) today announced the completion of its acquisition of Citywide Waste.

“We’re delighted to officially welcome the Citywide Waste team to Cleanaway,” said Tracey Boyes, Executive General Manager Solid Waste Services.

“Together, we’ll continue delivering essential services to Melbourne’s communities while enhancing resource recovery outcomes across the CBD and surrounding areas. The Citywide team has built a successful business and brings deep experience in servicing Melbourne’s inner city. Now, as part of Cleanaway, we’re excited to continue serving residents of the City of Melbourne and other major councils, as well as the many commercial and industrial customers who rely on the Dynon Road Transfer Station.”

Cleanaway’s existing solid waste services business in inner metropolitan Melbourne will expand to welcome around 200 team members, 100 additional fleet, and the Dynon Road transfer station, Victoria’s second-largest waste transfer station, located five kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD. Aligned with Cleanaway’s commitment to enabling its customers and communities to achieve better environmental outcomes through increased resource recovery, the company is investing $35 million to upgrade the Dynon Road Transfer Station, transforming it into a modern, efficient post-collection hub. The redevelopment will strengthen Melbourne’s waste management infrastructure and support the city’s economic and population growth for years to come.
