"Eliminating lacerations to our hands, fingers and other parts of the body was our main objective," said Regional Manager Sean Blackburn.

In July 2021, Senior Health & Safety Business Partner Steven Patrick facilitated a workshop that focused on injury protection. The workshop was attended by Maintenance teams from Cleanaway’s Laverton North and Coolaroo sites, both of which are part of the Victorian Commingled Resource Recovery (VCRR) network.

The workshop focused on analysing actual injury data while looking at root causes and contributing factors. Participants were then split into smaller groups to work on separate areas of the data before bringing it all together at the end with agreed actions at the end of the workshop session.

Regional Manager Sean Blackburn said that “Eliminating lacerations to our hands, fingers and other parts of the body was our main objective.”

Branch Manager Edgar Hartmanis also commented on how great it was for the Maintenance teams to be able to get together and work on a common safety goal.
