Nationally, we operate across two key segments in a wide range of sectors.
Solid Waste Services
Cleanaway operates Australia’s largest general waste and recycling collections fleet, supported by sorting, recycling, organics and disposal facilities that process materials after collection, recovering as many resources as possible to reduce the amount sent to landfill.
We provide safe, efficient and sustainable collection, recovery and disposal of solid waste. This includes putrescible (waste that decays or decomposes), inert (waste that does not break down), household and recovered waste, along with construction and demolition waste. Once collected, these materials are processed through our state-of-the-art facilities, including recycling facilities and transfer stations.
Waste that cannot be reused, repurposed or recycled is sent to our engineered landfills – providing them with a safe, final destination. At the landfills, we are able to capture gas generated from the breakdown of landfilled materials and canturn it into energy using advanced technologies. This ensures responsible waste management while maximising resource recovery and minimising environmental impact.
Environmental and Technical Solutions
Our Environmental and Technical Solutions team delivers expert waste management, resource recovery and industrial services across a range of industries. We provide comprehensive solutions for the collection, treatment, recycling and safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous liquids, oils, hydrocarbons, soils and chemical waste.
By combining our environmental expertise with technical precision, we help businesses meet regulatory requirements while minimising their impact on the environment.
This area works across three operating units:
Oils and Technical Services
We manage hazardous and non-hazardous liquids through safe collection, processing, refining, recycling and destruction. This includes hydrocarbons, chemical waste and specialised product destruction.
Health Services
We help protect people and the environment by safely managing medical, pharmaceutical and healthcare hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This includes the manufacture and supply of medical collection devices and the treatment and destruction of sharps, quarantine and pharmaceutical waste.
Industrial Services
We support the mining, industrial, oil and gas sectors with critical services that boost operational efficiency, prevent unplanned shutdowns, and ensure compliance with strict environmental and workplace safety standards. Our services include plant and asset management, vacuum loading, drain cleaning, high-pressure cleaning, pipeline maintenance, CCTV inspections and non-destructive digging.
