About
Safe, efficient removal of compacted materials
with BinWhip and non-entry tech
When silos, tanks and storage bins get blocked, operations grind to a halt – costing you time, money and product quality. Cleanaway’s industrial bulk storage cleaning uses specialised non-entry methods to quickly restore the flow of materials, minimising downtime while protecting your assets and team.
Our experienced technicians use the industry-leading Dual Impact BinWhip® silo cleaning tool to safely and efficiently clear blockages and compaction without the risks of confined space entry. BinWhip® is compatible with both vertical and horizontal storage vessels, using a powerful rotary action to break up even the toughest materials, including hardened grains, cement powder, animal feed, fertiliser, sugar and plastic pellets.
Whether you’re in manufacturing, agriculture, food processing or mining, Cleanaway’s Australia-wide silo maintenance services keep your bulk storage systems operating at full capacity.
Powders, dust and residual product
Silo cleaning often generates significant volumes of powders, dust and residual product build-up from grains, cement, lime, plastics, and other bulk materials.
Contaminated and hazardous waste
Certain silos store chemicals, hazardous powders or contaminated product that require specialist cleaning and disposal.

Process
Our silo cleaning process
We prioritise health and safety throughout the silo cleaning process. All work is carried out by trained industrial cleaning professionals in compliance with Cleanaway’s ISO-certified safety management systems.
We begin with a pre-start safety check to evaluate blockages and structural integrity, and provide detailed Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
Using BinWhip® or other non-entry cleaning tools, we dislodge material build-up from a safe external position.
Dislodged material is extracted using Cleanaway’s industrial vacuum loading fleet then either returned to you, recycled or safely disposed of.
Once the job is complete, we provide documentation on all work performed, volumes removed and maintenance recommendations.

What happens to the waste
Powders, dust and residual product removed during silo cleaning are recovered for recycling where suitable, or safely disposed of through Cleanaway’s national network of licensed facilities. This reduces waste to landfill while helping customers reclaim usable storage space.
For contaminated or hazardous residues, such as chemical powders or asbestos-contaminated dust, all waste is managed under strict handling protocols. Material is contained, transported and treated through approved processes to ensure worker safety and environmental protection.
