How often does your septic tank need pumping?

To prevent serious issues like overflows, it’s important to pump out your septic or sewerage tank before sludge levels exceed 30% of its total capacity. Depending on usage, this typically means pumping every three to five years. Cleanaway offers scheduled servicing of your septic tank to help you stay ahead of any problems and give you the peace of mind that your system is running as it should.

Prevent blockages

Without regular pump-outs, solids and sludge can build up and clog pipes and drains, leading to slow drainage, sewage back-ups and costly repairs.

Avoid sewage overflows

A neglected septic system can leak raw sewage into the surrounding environment, bringing significant health risks and contaminating nearby groundwater.

Eliminate odours

Routine pump-outs and cleaning reduce the risk of unpleasant odours caused by gas build-up and system overload.

Extend your system’s lifespan

Preventative maintenance is far more cost-effective than emergency repairs or replacing whole septic or sewerage systems.
