Reliable commingled recycling services for
single stream recycling
Cleanaway is committed to helping our customers meet sustainability targets through effective resource recovery. We offer collection, transport and disposal of commingled recycling for commercial and industrial customers throughout Australia. We also service over 100 municipal councils providing residential kerbside recycling bin collections.
Both our commercial commingled recycling services and those provided to council residents, allows for the convenient collection of mixed recyclables in a single bin. This makes recycling easier for users while streamlining sorting at Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs). Once sorted, these materials are sent on to recyclers for further processing.
Common recyclable containers
Includes glass bottles and jars, aluminium cans, steel cans, and hard plastic containers that are empty, clean, and dry, ready for sorting and recycling.
Mixed recyclable packaging
Covers packaging made from a single recyclable material or with minor mixed components such as plastic bottles with lids, metal jar lids, and cardboard beverage sleeves that can be separated during processing.

What commingled recycling becomes
The valuable resources recovered from commingled recycling streams have multiple pathways for reuse. For example, they can be made into new products, reducing the need for virgin materials and conserving natural resources. We’re playing a vital role in supporting Australia’s circular economy by working with our partners to recover as many resources as possible from recyclable items and put them back into the supply chain.
