Launched in 2017, Footprint 2025 was designed to tackle future challenges brought about by Australia’s rapidly growing populations and increased waste demands. It is Cleanaway’s roadmap to ensuring Australia has the right infrastructure in place to support communities in managing their waste, while continuing to improve resource recovery.
Our Hemmant facility efficiently recovers up to 75,000 tonnes of packaging waste such as cardboard, paper, polystyrene and soft plastics, ensuring that they are recycled efficiently and given a second life. Read more
The RRF processes up to 250,000 tonnes of dry, non-recyclable waste and turns it into up to 150,000 tonnes of eco-friendly fuel source. It also recovers other commodities such as metal, clean timber and inert materials in the process. Read more
Our Category 1 industry-leading waste oil refining facility that as many as 150 million litres of used oil collected from over 35,000 auto workshops and businesses, offsetting over 900,000 barrels of oil requirements and essentially closing the loop on waste oil. Read more
This facility combines traditional waste transfer with cutting edge sorting equipment, and processes over 300,000 tonnes of mixed and putrescible waste per year with the objective to recover more material and optimise landfill diversion. Read more
With the capability to count, sort and process 250,000 containers an hour, this site processes materials collected from the NSW’s container deposit scheme, Return and Earn. Read more
Our Category 1 Rutherford oil refinery processes more than 150 million litres of used oil, offsetting the country’s oil requirements by 900,000 barrels annually. It also turns used oil into components for ANFO and premium grade base oils. Read more
This facility is capable of cutting Western Sydney’s landfill volumes by 500,000 tonnes to power as many as 65,000 homes in the region. It will produce renewable energy that can decrease greenhouse gas emissions by more than 450,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. Read more
EarthPower is the region’s first food waste-to-energy facility that can process over 52,500 tonnes of food organics per year, turning it into green energy to power more than 3,600 homes in the region. Read more
Our innovative medical waste robotic Washline handles over 1.2 million reusable sharps containers a year within the biomedical, pharmaceutical, cytotoxic, anatomical and clinical waste industries while diverting almost 3,500 tonnes of plastic waste from landfill annually. Read more
This state-of-the-art facility sorts, decontaminates, and shreds more than 100,000 tonnes of Food Organics and Green Organics (FOGO) waste every year. It also houses our food depackaging unit that’s capable of processing up to 10 tonnes of packaged food waste every hour, with a potential of recovering up to 99%. Read more
The EPA-licensed Melbourne Regional Landfill (MRL) collects and turns residual waste from residential, commercial, and industrial customers, to renewable energy that powers up to 28,000 homes all over Victoria. Read more
Our hydrocarbon facility deals with a large variety of liquid waste streams, from industrial wastewaters to hydrocarbon impacted brines. It allows us to offer a cost-effective recycled fuel oil alternative to raw material. Read more
