Hand sanitisers, particularly alcohol-based sanitisers, can be fire and chemical hazards if not stored and disposed of properly. Due to its flammable nature, it cannot be disposed as regular rubbish and instead should be treated as hazardous waste.

Step 1: Remove outer packaging
The outer packaging of hand sanitisers are removed and bundled for recycling. This includes cardboard and pallets.
Step 2: Processing product
The hand sanitisers are processed through our HazPak II unit and separated into liquid product and packaging.
Step 3: Recycling and blending
The packaging is washed and recycled. The liquid product is stored to meet alternate fuel specifications, to be ultimately used in cement manufacture.
