Cleanaway are proud to sponsor Tangalooma EcoMarines (TEM) for a third year in a row, supporting TEM’s education programs about healthy waterways and proper waste behaviour to schools and community groups in the Brisbane River and Moreton Bay areas.
Each year, we support EcoMarines’ student ambassadors from the region with truck visits and in-school education programs led by our sustainability experts. Cleanaway also sponsor prizes for the Cleanaway Waste Warrior Challenge, an art competition where students compete to create the most imaginative art piece from common litter items found on their school grounds.
Last year, Banksia Beach State School submitted the winning entry – a jellyfish made out of 530 chip packets, bottle lids, plastic bags and other rubbish found around their school yard.
2019 marks yet another year we are supporting Tangalooma EcoMarines’s big end-of-year event, The Wave, where we celebrate the sustainability efforts of their ambassadors and students.

About Tangalooma EcoMarines
TEM are a Brisbane-based not-for-profit foundation that deliver environmental education programs to schools and community groups. This program turns everyday students into waste warriors dedicated to protect the land, sea and animals of Moreton Bay and Southeast Queensland.
TEM also creates opportunities for students to link with local businesses, organisations, educators and marine experts to assist their efforts.
