Cleanaway has confirmed details of two community information sessions to talk through its Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) application before it is lodged.
Cleanaway will be hosting two information sessions in early May:
- 6.30PM to 8.30PM Tuesday 7 May, Dardanup Hall, 19 Ferguson Road, Dardanup
- 6.30PM to 8.30PM Wednesday 8 May, Ferguson Hall, 953 Ferguson Road, Ferguson
“We want to talk through our plans for the Dardanup Landfill, the history of the site and respond directly to community concerns,” Damian Burton, Cleanaway WA General Manager said.
The format for the information sessions will be:
- 6.30PM Sign-in
- 6.45PM Cleanaway Presentation and audience Q&A
- 7.45PM Information Stalls and Discussion
- 8.30PM Close
“The feedback so far has been important for us to hear and we are looking forward to hearing more from the community.
“We have already taken on board the local community’s feedback and we will no longer be pursuing a 24-hour operation at the Dardanup Landfill site,” Mr Burton said.
Cleanaway plans to submit its JDAP application in the coming months. Cleanaway understand the JDAP process includes consultation with the Shire of Dardanup and the community.
“We are keen to make sure there is ample opportunity for the community to provide feedback and we are planning to host an Open Day in the coming weeks.
“We are proud of our site. We run the site safely and efficiently. We are open and transparent about the site and we are committed to addressing community concerns,” Mr Burton said.
Cleanaway has also set up a dedicated Dardanup Landfill website where it will be releasing ongoing updates, information about plans for the site and progress reports on addressing community concerns.
The website address is www.cleanaway.com.au/dardanup.
RSVPs for the community information sessions are due by Monday 6 May at www.cleanaway.com.au/rsvp-dardanup under the ´Community Engagement’ tab. For more information, the community can call 08 9719 9804 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
