Helping a resident in need with skip bins

The Cleanaway team in Mandurah, WA joined a group of volunteers and other local businesses to help a resident in need earlier this month. Damien Moss, Cleanaway Regional Manager, Solid Waste Services, received a 5.30pm call from Mandurah Councillor David Schumacher requesting a skip for the next morning at 7am for the affected resident.

The team came together not just to deliver the bin but to help with cleaning up the resident’s home. As it turned out, they needed more than a single skip for the waste. Cleanaway quickly arranged for additional skip bins to be delivered. The waste was transported to the City of Mandurah Waste Management Centre, which Cleanaway manages for the City of Mandurah.

Councillor Dave Schumacher was humbled by how the community came together to help the resident in need.

“The resident in need is the type of person who volunteers their time helping others but never asks for help herself,” he said in the Mandurah Coastal Times.

This project is one of many the Cleanaway Mandurah team has participated in as a way to give back to the community they’re proud of. We have operated within Mandurah for more than 20 years and employ around 70 local people. Cleanaway is looking forward to serving the Mandurah community for many more years to come.
