Domestic Charges

A Waste Management Charge of $316.00 will be levied on all domestic residential properties, entitling each property to:

· Weekly collection of 120 litres for general waste

· fortnightly collection of 240 litre co-mingled recyclables

· fortnightly collection of 240 litre garden organics

· two bulk domestic household kerbside clean-up services per year

Additional Service Charges

A Waste Management Charge, depending on type of service, will be levied on all domestic property owners who apply in writing to Council for any additional bins. Each application for an additional service will be considered separately by Council’s Waste Services Manager and, upon approval, each property owner will be entitled to a weekly collection of the bins issued under application. These premises will be levied with one or more of the following charges depending upon the bin type(s) requested:

Commercial Charges

The service for Commercial premises is optional, and owners/operators may utilise either Council’s domestic waste collection service or a private contractor. Council’s service entitles each property to a weekly collection of garbage and fortnightly collection of recyclables issued under application. These premises will be levied with one or more of the following charges depending upon the bin type(s) requested:

Non-rateable Properties

Council may provide non-rateable properties (including non-profit and/or community organisations) with a domestic waste service upon request at rates identical to the domestic premises waste collection service listed above.

Standard domestic rates will apply to churches and community organisations, charities, child-care centres, schools, and all non-profit organisations.

Other Waste Service Charges

Council have Compost Bins and Worm Farms for sale. Payment for these bins must be made at Council’s Customer Service Counter.

Schools

Schools within the Council area may be provided with recycling-only bins up to a limit of 5 x 240 Litre, free of charge. Any garbage-only bins requested will be levied at a charge identical to the domestic premises waste collection service.

Vacant Residential Lots

Vacant land will be levied at $80.00, being 25% of the standard Waste Management Charge of $316 per annum for domestic residential properties.

Residential Lots

Residential properties upon which a dwelling has been demolished for the purpose of constructing a new dwelling will be eligible for a rebate of 75% off the standard Waste Management Charge for periods where a service may not have been provided.

Special Circumstances

In instances where Council’s General Manager is satisfied that special assistance is required, often in the case of hardship, the elderly, or in cases of disability, the General Manager may provide one or more of the following services free of charge for a specified period:

· Additional Garbage-Only Bin

· Additional Garden Organics Bin

· Additional Collection of Current Bin(s)

· Additional Recycling Bin(s)
