WA business making wishes come true for the Starlight Foundation

Congratulations to our WA business for their amazing fundraising results for the Starlight Great Adventure Challenge. The team raised $21,000 which equates to three Starlight children wishes being granted. The event itself raised a total of $73,000.

The team were on the course for seven hours and finished in 6th place. The course consisted of a 13km run through what some have described as jungle like vegetation, mountain biked 35km over treacherous terrain, canoed the rapids of Moore River, caving and challenged through a memory task.

WA Solids General Manager, David Williamson said, “Crossing the line was a huge accomplishment in itself, but knowing that we have helped seriously ill children and their families realise a dream they once thought impossible, is something extremely special.”

The team raised money through raffles, including a delicious caramel slice, a BBQ, and a great shave.

Dawn Smith made an outstanding contribution with her famous caramel slice that raised $229 in the raffle, with a single entrant buying $30 worth of tickets! Dawn was awarded Starlight Champion for her delicious contribution.

The Mandurah Branch was also recognised for their fantastic efforts as a site.

Ben Ellefsen and Glenn McManus made a personal sacrifice in the name of fundraising by undergoing a great shave.

Our WA business has been supporting the Starlight Foundation for 2 years, and raised over $100,000.

Congratulations to everyone for their fundraising efforts.
